Dappy Storms To No.1 With Debut Solo Single & Sets New Chart Record
Published by HJPR | Sep 25, 2011
Dappy today flies straight to No.1 on the Official UK Singles Chart with his debut solo single 'No Regrets'.
The single has set a new chart record, as Dappy is the 11th consecutive UK artist to top the single chart, the longest run of No.1s by UK acts ever.
'No Regrets' went to No.1 on iTunes within hours of being released last Sunday, and has sold 96,939 this week.
Dappy says: 'I'm overjoyed that 'No Regrets' is top of the charts. This No.1 is dedicated to my mum and everything she's done for me. I've believed in the song from the moment I wrote it and want to say a huge thank you to all the fans that got behind me this week. I'm having a big party tonight to celebrate!"
Written and produced by Dappy, in collaboration with TMS, ‘No Regrets’ is a indisputably brilliant pop piece.
Sounding almost the antithesis to what most would expect from Mr. Constavlos, ‘No Regrets’ is a self-aware siren of hope and optimism. The track is a rousing, heavily pop-rock influenced anthem, whilst still retaining Dappy’s trademark beats and synth.
Dappy previously hit No.1 in the UK singles chart in April 2009 with the single 'Number One', a collaboration with Tinchy Stryder.
